pangea pham presents the soundtrack for the summer

BOSTON, MA (June 1, 2007) — With the July 2007 release of their debut album The Pangea Project, Boston hip hop group Pangea Pham presents the soundtrack for the summer, a 19-track collection of songs that effortlessly balances the grittiness of the streets with the tenacious sounds of the underground.

On The Pangea Project, emcee/producer Session’s eclectic assortment of melodic, pulsating beats set the stage for each of the five members of Pangea Pham to step into the spotlight and put their thoughtful lyricism and intriguing flows on display. Diogenes shows his sincere dedication to hip hop on “Part of My Heart,” and Jug delivers aggressive rhymes over the placid synth harmonies of “Whoever Want It,” while “Drinks Ain’t On Me” finds Tystormz’s dispensing sarcastic witticisms, “Got That,” demonstrates Cube’s potent wordplay, and “All Around the World,” features Session’s straight-forward assessments of beats, rhymes, and life. Together, Pangea Pham forms a group that literally has a little something for everyone.

Formed in 2001, Pangea Pham is comprised of all five artists on Boston indie label Acuta Records’s roster: Jug and Cube Ref (who record as a group under the name Tru Indeed), Tystormz and Session (who form Acuta’s other group, StormSession), and Diogenes (the label’s only solo artist). Through the release of volumes 1 and 2 of The Acuta Bootlegs mix CDs, their energetic stage shows, and opening up for acts like Mr. Lif and Black Sheep, hip hop fans throughout the New England area have become well-acquainted with the dynamism and lyricism of these five young men. The release of The Pangea Project marks the beginning of the ascent of these stars on the rise, and with quality hip hop music from the likes of Pangea Pham as its foundation, Acuta Records ensures that they can live up to the words of the label’s motto: “Never falling.”
